the musical gate
          by Danny Leslie Loftin
The musical gate is located near an edge around the sea.  It is resting between two pillars - The Pillars of Thalamus.  They work together as a filter joining those who walked by sight behind the shore with those who seek after and touch the foundation of the sea.  The Pillars of Thalamus are extensions of these stairs which descend past that edge.       Stories are told.     Well, i hear they are told by nearby townspeople who claim the gate has stood for many thousands of years.  Recent as well as early samples have revealed the gate which stands upon the shore is made of bone and there is a myth it is nourished and regenerated from sea water through Pillars of Thalamus.  About the opening between the pillars?   It is 1.618a times 1/2 the combined height of the two pillars.  So, it is the ratio not necessarily the distance between the pillars which has remained constant for 2400 years... a date which is celebrated to this day as the time of the first recorded measurement.  The pillars, i mean pillars Chinja and BoA are believed to have multiple functions but primarily one acts as a translator and the other as a diplomat between elements in nature.
a The golden ratio can be expressed as a mathematical constant, usually denoted by the Greek letter \varphi (phi). The figure of a golden section illustrates the geometric relationship that defines this constant. Expressed algebraically:
 \frac{a+b}{a} = \frac{a}{b} = \varphi\,.
This equation has as its unique positive solution the algebraic irrational number
\varphi = \frac{1 + \sqrt{5}}{2}\approx 1.61803\,39887\dots\,
